INL hosted LEARN Kick-off meeting

LEARN is a four-year project funded under the Horizon Europe Framework Programme (HORIZON) – Environment and Health and will focus its work on the status of air quality in schools and its impact on the cognition of children.

The project kicked off last week at INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory in Braga – Portugal, under INL’s coordination and in partnership with other 10 premiere partners from 8 different European countries – Vrije Universiteit Brussels (Belgium), Envirometrics (Greece), KU Leuven (Belgium), Hasselt Universiteit(Belgium), MANN + HUMMEL (Germany), Nanotechnology Industries Association (Belgium), imec The Netherlands (Holland), AlveoliX (Switzerland), Aarhus University (Denmark), FI Group (Spain).

From INL, there will be two research groups involved in this unique project – the Nanosafety research group that will lead the work together with the Medical Devices research group.

Projects under this framework are directed towards the Key Strategic Orientation KSO-D ‘Creating a more resilient, inclusive and democratic European society of Horizon Europe’s Strategic Plan 2021-2024 also contributing to the following impact areas: ‘Good health and high-quality accessible health care’, ‘Climate change mitigation and adaptation’, and ‘Clean and healthy air, water and soil’
