The INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory and PACKNET, the Spanish Packaging Technologic Platform have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

Within this agreement INL and PACKNET will now develop collaborative activities of mutual interest in the fields of materials science and nanotechnology, as well as perform multidisciplinary research in nanoscience and nanotechnology applied to the packaging industry  in general (materials, ICT, nanosensors, and Industry 4.0).

The collaboration areas identified will also go beyond research projects, covering internationalization, education and training, knowledge and technology transfer, intrapreneurship, and dissemination.

The challenge of sustainability has increased the need for having environmentally friendly packaging, which must also be capable of complying with the highest safety patterns, namely in the agri-food sector.

INL has several projects running in this area and we are sure that this agreement with PACKNET will have a significant impact for the economy and the society at large.
