Demonstration session of the NANOEATERS project

November 2, 2020

On November 23, CiTIUS will host a demonstration session of the NANOEATERS project. In this session, with the participation of researchers from INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory of Braga and CiTIUS, as well as representatives of the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN), it will be presented the use case EYEPRESS, an autonomous implantable system for intraocular pressure monitoring. This use case is being developed by researchers from the CiTIUS and the INL, in the framework of the European project NANOEATERS.

NANOEATERS is funded through the Interreg Spain-Portugal call POPTEC. It has the objective of developing an autonomous implantable sensor for the continuous monitoring of the intraocular pressure, with the aim of improving the prevention, control and treatment of glaucoma disease. The research includes the design and test of several chips for the harvesting of light energy in standard CMOS technology, as well as pressure sensors designed in Micro Electromechanical Systems (MEMS technology). More information about the technology can be found here.

The agenda of the session is the following:

  • 10h00. Institutional Welcome

    • Paulo Félix Lamas, Director. Centro Singular de Investigación en Tecnoloxías da Información (CiTIUS)

    • María José Mariño, Area Director of Centers. Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN)
