Diéguez Group
The Diéguez Research Group works at the interface of research, technology development, and the clinic with the overarching goal of translating science to improve of people’s health. The group capitalises on the unparalleled control over fluid dynamics, high-throughput, and reproducibility offered by microfluidics, and on the high sensitivity and specificity of nanobiosensors to develop innovative solutions aiming to further our current understanding of human diseases leading to better treatment and earlier diagnostics.
Research lines:
- Biomarker enrichment and isolation from liquid biopsies toward minimally invasive disease monitoring and diagnosis
- Ultrasensitive detection using nanobiosensors toward earlier and accurate disease diagnosis
- Advanced 3D models based on multicellular spheroids, organoids, and organ-on-chip toward disease modelling and precision medicine
- Development of advanced Medical Instrumentation based on optical technologies
