WIPO grants INL with the Observer status

January 27, 2021

The INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory has recently become an Observer at WIPO – World Intellectual Property Organization, a status that allows INL to access WIPO meetings.

For Dr. Ulf Hakanson, INL Chief Officer for Intellectual Property Exploitation and Knowledge Transfer, “INL is proud to be accredited the Observer status at WIPO. We actively work to raise IP awareness in the innovation ecosystem and to efficiently capture intellectual assets resulting from our research and development collaborations.  We believe our gained experience and unique status can contribute to WIPO’s important work in developing an effective international IP system and providing tools to stimulate innovation and creativity.”

INL has been working closely with WIPO in the promotion of specialised seminars as a result of the major relevance that INL gives to Intellectual Property, making this intergovernmental scientific research organisation one of the most active in the submission of new patent applications in Portugal.
